Job description for Supply Chain Administrator

As part of our team, you’ll collaborate with a large Engineering and Technology group at our Defence Munitions site. Your role will be crucial in supporting the Storm Shadow, Brimstone, and AMRAAM weapon systems, ensuring the Royal Air Force’s weapons capability remains at peak readiness.
Your primary focus will revolve around stock control activities, including ordering parts from external suppliers and meticulously tracking these orders to ensure the depot can plan its work efficiently. You’ll interact with a variety of stakeholders, including Defence Equipment and Support project teams and the Royal Air Force.

We are committed to flexible working arrangements, requiring regular in-person attendance for at least 60% of the week (three days) to foster the benefits of face-to-face collaboration while supporting work-life balance. Initially, you may need to attend more frequently to get acquainted with the site, the team, and your role.

What you’ll be doing
- Creating and maintaining Item Data Records onto the MOD Logistic Information Systems for a range of equipment by collating all data values, to enable optimised Supply Chain activities.
- Producing stock data to enable Demand and Supply Planning for of equipment, using centrally approved Inventory analysis tools.
- Supporting in the identification of the storage and distribution requirements for equipment.
- Supporting the timely production of Customs Declaration documents to enable compliant HMRC activities when distributing Inventory into/out of the UK.
- Supporting accounting activities for a range of Ministry of Defence (MOD) owned equipment to enable materiel and financial accounting in accordance with Policies and Processes.
- Producing data in support of recommendations for the disposal of equipment in a timely manner.
- Support stock control and production requirements for management activities for equipment.
Person specification
To be successful with your application, you’ll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
- Demonstrable evidence of stakeholder engagement
- Experience in delivering customer service
- Experience of working collaboratively in teams
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams)
In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competences and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
- Materiel and Financial Accounting for Inventory – Supervised Practitioner
- Inventory Demand and Supply Planning – Supervised Practitioner
- Communicating and Influencing – CSBC2
- Managing a Quality Service – CSBC2
