Linking to DE&S

DE&S encourages users to establish hypertext links to the site; however before any links are made directly to information that is hosted on our site, permission should be sought. This is with the exception of linking through social media.

You must also contact us should you want to say your website is associated with or endorsed by DE&S.

We do not permit our pages to be loaded into frames on your site. DE&S pages must load into the user’s entire window.

Where our website contains links to other websites then these links are provided for your information only.  Listing should not be taken as endorsement of any kind. We cannot guarantee that these links will work all of the time and we have no control over the content or availability of linked pages. We accept no responsibility for these linked pages or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.

Virus Protection

We make every effort to check and test material at all stages of production. However you must take your own precautions to ensure that the processes which you employ for accessing this website do not expose you to the risk of viruses, malicious computer code or other forms of interference which may damage your own computer system.  It is always wise for you to run an anti-virus program on all material downloaded from the Internet. We cannot accept any responsibility for any loss, disruption or damage to your data or your computer system which may occur whilst using material derived from this website.

Privacy Statement

We process information about you in accordance with our Privacy Policy.  By using our website you consent to such processing, and you warrant that all data provided by you is accurate.

This privacy statement only covers the DE&S website at http://www.des.mod.uk. It does not cover links within this site to other websites.

Social Media Terms & Conditions

The @DefenceES Twitter account and DefenceES Facebook page is run by the DE&S Communications team.

If you follow @DefenceES on Twitter or like DefenceES on Facebook, you can expect regular posts covering:

  • Insights into DE&S
  • News and press releases
  • Speeches, statements, and features by DE&S, including previews of our magazine – Desider.
  • Photo, infographics and videos
  • Retweets and shares of relevant information

We’re also on LinkedIn. We use LinkedIn to advertise our latest vacancies and promote company news.

@ messages and Direct Messages

We review @DefenceES Twitter messages daily, but don’t generally reply to them.

We also won’t normally reply to Direct Messages on Twitter. The limitations of Twitter’s format means that we wouldn’t be able to give you a full and useful reply. There may be instances where this platform is appropriate and we will endeavour to deal with you enquiry but we cannot guarantee this.

Facebook and LinkedIn allow long form text entry so we would recommend this method instead. We will endeavour to deal with your enquiry but cannot guarantee this.

Following

If we follow an account, it does not imply endorsement.

  • tangible property.

It also includes wasted management or office time in connection with our website or in connection with the use, inability to use, or results of the use of our website, any websites linked to it and any materials posted on it.

This does not affect DE&S’s liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, nor our liability for fraudulent misrepresentation, nor any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Governing Law
