This entry-level role is perfect for launching your career in both the IT industry and the Civil Service. You’ll gain hands-on experience in technical support, Business-As-Usual tasks, and IT project-based duties. You’ll benefit from a wide range of training and development opportunities, including in-house and industry-standard courses and certifications. You will also have opportunities to travel to other UK wide MoD sites.
Due to this being a front-facing customer focused role, regular in-person office attendance is required for a minimum of 4 days per week, with some flexibility where business needs allow. You’ll be able to enjoy our impressive on-site amenities, including a restaurant, coffee bistros, and free parking as well as taking advantage of our fully equipped gym, sports hall with bookable classes, squash court, tennis courts, and football pitch.
For security reasons this role is open to sole UK nationals only.
What you’ll be doing
- Delivering Service Desk Support activity, gathering customer Information to identify the reason for the call.
- Assessing customer software or hardware issues and attempting resolution or escalating where appropriate to agreed service standards.
- Actioning asset management, account services, IT service desk requests.
- Providing technical support and guidance to Customers.
- Regularly sharing knowledge of common issues and working collaboratively.
Person specification
To be successful with your application, you’ll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
- Proficient in the use of IT – Microsoft products or similar.
- Demonstrable experience in providing customer service.
In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competences and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
