Defence Equipment and Support has been nominated for two Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Awards in recognition of its outstanding commitment to promoting the highest standards of professional skill, ability and integrity across its projects.

A CIPS Supply Management Award is considered to be the most prestigious recognition an organisation or individual in the procurement and supply chain profession can receive, and for Defence Equipment and Support’s Commercial teams to be nominated for two such awards is a considerable achievement.

The Commercial Professional Programme (CPP) has been nominated in the Best People Development Initiative category. The CPP was developed to deliver coherent education and training, recognised qualifications and professional support to enable commercial personnel to broaden and raise their professional skills throughout their career.

It has been delivered against a backdrop of an industry-wide shortage of procurement professionals, and has already made a marked impact – both for the organisation and its staff.

In addition, the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) team has been put forward for the Best Cross Functional Teamwork Project, in recognition of the complex portfolio of life saving equipment they have delivered in response to a chemical attack in Syria.

The CIPS Supply Management Awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 13th September.
