What is the Operational Delivery Through Life Support (TLS) Graduate Scheme?

We are seeking individuals who are talented, motivated, and skilled graduates to join our Operational Delivery Through Life Support (TLS) Graduate Scheme and become our TLS Delivery Professionals of the future. TLS includes the disciplines of Integrated Logistic Support and Equipment Support Management – define, set, evaluate and validate supportability and sustainability through-life requirements into new acquisition and in-service contracts. Ensuring the equipment or capability that is in-service or entering into service has cost-effective, assured, technically compliant and safe support solutions.

What you’ll need

To apply for this scheme, you’ll need:

  • GCSE Maths and English Language at a minimum of grade 4 (or an equivalent qualification)
  • A Bachelor’s (or a higher) degree in any subject at a minimum grade 2:2

What you’ll do

The Operational Delivery Through Life Support (TLS) Graduate Scheme is a two-year development programme focused on Integrated Logistics Support and Equipment Support roles across different business areas within DE&S. You’ll rotate between three placements that give you with the opportunity to develop your knowledge and application. By the end of the scheme you will be able to:

• Determine resource schedules for producing and maintaining the Through Life Support aspects of equipment acquisition and in-service projects, including the associated work break down activities for managing the whole life support cost and delivering availability of Military capabilities.
• Build and maintain stakeholder and assurance community networks.
• Support the production and validation of Through Life Support plans, use cases and associated deliverables.
• Have the understanding and skills to be able to produce and monitor availability, reliability and maintainability estimates, drawing in mathematical and statistical knowledge to be able to be effective in supporting trials, tests, evaluations and demonstrations against the system project milestone/target.
• Developed skills in technical report writing
• Developed knowledge in conducting Supportability Analysis (SA) and develop negotiation skills for recommending trade-offs, alternative support solutions and options to be considered.

DE&S is currently operating a Smarter Working Policy, where hybrid working may be available depending on your placement/project.

However, we cannot specifically advise in advance of you joining the organisation. It could mean being situated in office three times a week, or twice a month. As this is a graduate scheme we encourage face-to-face collaboration to network with your peers and gain further experience.

You will be able to discuss your daily working hours with your Delivery Manager on starting.

Upon successful completion of the Graduate scheme, learners will deploy at Senior Technical Specialist 1.
