Job description for Project Manager

Do you thrive developing positive and engaged relationships in a complex and ever-evolving environment? Are you considering building an exciting career within an organisation that protects and supports the UK Armed Forces? Project Delivery are looking for high-performing and driven Project Managers to join our expanding team.

The Project Management community within Abbey Wood is a group of circa 1000 individuals focused on using their skills and experience to help the delivery of a wide range of complex, interesting projects and programmes delivering equipment for our armed forces.

We will provide you with diverse opportunities at the forefront of ensuring the delivery of crucial and significant projects. For example, you could be involved in projects that deliver equipment to the front lines, supporting Humanitarian aid globally, or guaranteeing future capabilities such as robotics and automation, to take people out of areas of conflict.

For security reasons these roles are open to sole UK nationals only. A ‘sole UK national’ refers to an individual who holds citizenship solely in the UK, without dual citizenship or nationality from another country. We’re unable to offer visa sponsorship.

These roles require you to have lived in the UK for the last 5 years and obtain Security Check (SC) security clearance. Clearance must be obtained without any caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role you’ve been recruited for. If it isn’t obtained or is obtained but with caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role, any conditional offer made to you will be withdrawn. Obtaining SC security clearance can be a lengthy process, and we reserve the right to withdraw any conditional offer made if the necessary security clearance isn’t obtained within 12 months.

We champion flexible ways of working. Regular in-person attendance is required to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration alongside flexibility of hours to support work-life balance. Initially, you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourselves with the site, the team, and your role.

Whilst on site, you’ll experience our impressive range of on-site facilities including a restaurant and coffee bistros and free parking. Our sports facilities include a fully equipped gym and sports hall with bookable classes, as well as tennis courts and a squash court.

Please note, interviews will take place from W/C 2nd June onwards and will be carried out over Microsoft Teams video.
