You’ll work alongside military and industry partners to deliver key defence projects within performance, time and cost parameters. Alongside this, you’ll also complete several placements across our Land, Fleet, Air, Strategic Enablers and Corporate domains whilst you work towards an APM Project Management Qualification.

MOD Abbeywood

What you’ll need

To apply for this scheme, you’ll need:

  • An honours degree in any recognised subject (minimum 2:2). A degree at a grade of 2:1 or higher and experience relevant to your chosen scheme would be desirable

If you are in your final academic year, you are encouraged to apply with your predicted grades. Evidence of the above qualifications will be required as part of your pre-employment checks before a formal offer can be made.

We are seeking individuals who are talented, motivated, and skilled graduates to join our Project Professional Graduate Scheme and become our Project Delivery Professionals of the future.

What you’ll do

You’ll start your first placement on arrival into DE&S where you’ll familiarise yourself with the organisation and start your career development.  From here you’ll start to build your knowledge, skills, learning and experience as you support and delivery to our customers from within your placement teams.

You’ll continue your placement rotations throughout the business working on various projects to enhance and build on your development. You’ll also be studying towards your professional qualification alongside your work placements. Once you’ve successfully completed the scheme you can regrade into a permanent role in one of our sub-function specialisms.

Course frequently asked questions

Yes. Should you require support with the application process you can contact our Entry Talent team at deshr-etcoe-recruitment@mod.gov.uk

DE&S is currently operating a Smarter Working Policy, where hybrid working may be available depending on your placement/project.

However, we cannot specifically advise in advance of you joining the organisation. It could mean being situated in office three times a week, or twice a month. As this is a graduate scheme we encourage face-to-face collaboration to network with your peers and gain further experience.

You will be able to discuss your daily working hours with your Delivery Manager on starting.

Upon successful completion of the Graduate scheme, learners will deploy at Senior Technical Specialist 1.
