Our Integrated Logistics (iLog) function is responsible for the development, management and delivery of new and/or in-service support. The iLog function has professionals whose expertise includes: Operations Management; Integrated Logistic Support (ILS), Supply Chain Management; Transport/Movement; Storekeeping/Warehouse Operations.
As a Supply Chain Manager, you will provide support to Demand & Supply planning activities and Inventory optimisation within a defined area of responsibility through maintenance of accurate Inventory records. You will identify areas of poor performance and opportunities for improvement, devising and ensuring Continuous Improvement initiatives are being upheld. Additionally, you will provide support and input to operational Supply Chain Management (SCM) across Inventory Management, Supplier Management, Demand Management and Performance Management activities, with accountability for Materiel Accounting transactional aspects of SCM including pricing, loan management and purchasing, repair and disposal transactions.
The United Kingdom National Codification Bureau are the sole authority within the UK for NATO Codification. The UKNCB & IRC business units are part of the DE&S Support Enablers Operating Centre located in Glasgow. The International Policy Data Quality Officer is responsible for supporting the International Policy implementation at UKNCB, as well as ensuring data quality meets the standards required through audit and assurance.
A summary of the responsibilities are as follows:
a. Provide training, mentoring and leadership to the Level 1 ‘Quality & Documentation Engineer’
b. Codify items of supply in accordance with ACodP-1 rules meeting agreed customer requirements (both UK & Foreign items),
c. Advise other MoD and Industry organisations on codification policy & processes,
d. Initiate & respond to NATO collaboration requests as specified in ACodP-1,
e. Provide input to UK & NATO Codification publications (99-M1 , SMD Guide, ACodp-1, CodSP),
f. Identify areas to Improve the quality of master data on the Codification Support Information System (CSIS) Database. Prioritise these for action via enabling arrangements,
g. Act as SME for policy related decision on new or post codification related queries,
h. Contribute to the development and execution of CSIS data quality strategy,
i. Act as SME for queries to and from foreign NCBs,
j. Contribute to AC/135 Panel A agenda items & actions,
k. Support policy development for UK NCB by supporting the development, implementation and compliance with DLF for consistent application of NATO policy,
l. Provide Advice and Guidance to MOD departments and Industry on the use of the NATO Codification system.
m. Be appointed to undertake other duties within UKNCB when workload fluctuations require flexibility of resources.
To be successful you must have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above (or equivalent/further academic evidence) and clear experience in your CV of working within a supply chain discipline (including purchasing, supply chain repair procedures, stock accounting and disposal activities). Your application will be enhanced with data management and analysis skills supporting the monitoring and validation of demand and supply information and experience of combining supplier management, demand planning, Inventory optimization and financial and performance management.
Previous experience of carrying out purchase, repair and disposal transactions, supervisory or management experience and strong communication skills engaging with stakeholders at all levels and the ability to provide effective representation at meetings/forums will lead to your success. Additionally, a background of working in a Defence, Civil Service or a large and complex organisation would be highly beneficial. Qualified to ONC level in an engineering, or Logistics, discipline is highly desirable.
