We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Supply Chain Management team! This is an entry level position where you’ll receive the training to develop your skill set and the experience to equip you for a successful career in Supply Chain Management, working on exciting and meaningful projects that support the UK’s armed forces.
Defence Munitions Receive, Store, Maintain & Issue a wide range of munitions that are used by the UK armed forces to train, protect and serve anywhere in the world. Our Defence Munitions staff work closely with DE&S project teams and front-line commands in order to ensure our troops have the right items at the right time. We work as an important part of the wider MoD establishment that supports, procures and supplies our troops, providing them with a range of munitions from bullets, shells, and flares up to and including and complex weapons such as high-calibre ammunition and guided or targeted weapons.
You will be responsible for helping to achieve business objectives and continue improving performance. You will support key activities and senior colleagues, contributing to operational Supply Chain Management across Inventory Management, Supplier Management, Demand Management and Performance Management activities.

Responsibilities for Supply Chain Administrator
To be successful in this role, you will ensure that a high-quality service is delivered, and this will be demonstrated through your ability to collaborate with others to deliver a positive outcome. Having a good eye for detail and dealing with the management of data will play a vital part of this post.
Key activities may include:
* Manage and monitor inventory levels to inform the forecasting of demands.
* Process, manage and authorise orders in a timely and accurate manner.
* Update and maintain item and data records accurately to ensure process compliance and operational efficiency.
* Comply with appropriate policy and safety requirements at all times.
* Escalate any complex issues to senior colleagues and suggest areas for improvement where necessary.
* Monitor deliveries and dues in and hasten where necessary to ensure inventory is kept at required levels.
* Contributing to development include proposing and implementing improvements to current working methods.
* Liaising with stakeholders, you will support the management and accuracy of materiel accounting transactions.
* Co-ordinate Stocktaking Plan and support investigations on discrepancies, to reconcile and adjust the account.
* Delivering a high-quality service, collaborating with others to deliver positive outcomes.
* Creating/maintaining spreadsheets to support Stock-take Planning, Training co-ordination and Financial registers.
This is a varied role within a demanding and busy environment which will require you to be a confident and forward-thinking individual with analytical skills and a high attention to detail.
The role will require you to be proactive and able to work independently, therefore, having good communication skills both verbally and in writing are key.
You’ll have a flexible attitude and be conscientious in your work with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
What you will be assessed against
To be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
• IT skills, with a good understanding of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
• Articulate and precise in communicating information.
• Good analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Knowledge and experience of successfully managing and influencing multiple stakeholders and customers.
It will also benefit your application if you are able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
• Previous experience in stocktake planning.
• Previous experience within a supply chain based environment or similar.
• Experience of managing spreadsheets.
• Good organisational skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised to tight deadlines.

If the outcome of the review results in an increase in the minimum salary and your salary offer falls below the new minimum, your salary will be increased to the new amount from your contracted start date. If the new minimum is less than the salary you are offered, the original salary offer will be retained.
