We are seeking an experienced security professional who is regarded a Subject Matter Expert, to join our team at SDA. This is a key interface role between the site security teams, Ministry of Defence Police, Defence Security Regulator and the SDA Abbeywood customer, where strong communication skills are required. Based on a contractor Site in Derby you will required to provide advice and guidance on complex matters relating to security and its application such as risk management or ensuring matters are escalated and dealt with correctly. The role has responsibility for dealing regularly with clients/customers on complex, controversial and contentious issues. The successful applicant will typically be able to chair internal and external meetings involving senior members. You will be responsible for security best practice and to ensure that all key stakeholders are effectively managed throughout security activities.

Responsibilities for SDA Security Advisor
In this role, you will be entrusted with:
• Undertaking a security review, audit, inspection, or investigation of Project Teams, establishments or industry facilities
• Production of security assurance reports issued to the risk owners within agreed timescales
• Providing advice and guidance on complex matters relating to security and its application, including detailed guidance on threat mitigation
• Actively building and maintaining a wide network of colleagues and customer contacts across Defence industry
• Provide effective leadership and strategic direction to enable staff to work effectively and efficiently
• Provision of advice to the Security Management Board
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, in order to inform and influence security decisions to ensure good security performance
What you will be assessed against
To be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
• Significant experience of security management
• Knowledge of business continuity management, security risk management and the associated ISO regulations
It will also benefit your application if you are able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
• MSyl
• Establishment Security Officer course
• CPNI (Central Policy for National Infrastructure)

If the outcome of the review results in an increase in the minimum salary and your salary offer falls below the new minimum, your salary will be increased to the new amount from your contracted start date. If the new minimum is less than the salary you are offered, the original salary offer will be retained.
