The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) has exciting career opportunities for eager Junior/Graduate Engineers to join our most modern and technically advanced projects. There are 4 positions available across respective engineering teams in Barrow-in-Furness. During your first months, we will assess your personality, aptitude, career goals, and your interests to find the best team fit for you. You will then set about learning the specialisms of your discipline of engineering and wider submarine systems. These roles are open to Junior Engineers, Graduates and Apprentices of any Engineering discipline and are well-suited to engineers who are seeking to gain a broader awareness of cross-discipline, whilst contributing to the some of the most complex and technically advanced programmes in the world.

Responsibilities for Junior Engineer
Thanks to the variety of the respective positions, key responsibilities will differ relative to specialism and department. If successful, we will look to allocate you to a role based on your skillset, preference, and strengths. Shared responsibilities may include:
• Support the development of requirements for a sub-system
• Collect, collate and evaluate technical data to support the management of engineering technical requirements.
• Provide support in the development and / or acceptance of a sub-system.
What you will be assessed against
To be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
• Educated to A Level, or equivalent qualification, such as ONC, NVQ (level 3) or BTEC (level 3) or completed an MOD Apprenticeship
It will also benefit your application if you are able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
• Some experience in preferred discipline of engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Marine, Naval Architecture or relevant discipline)

If the outcome of the review results in an increase in the minimum salary and your salary offer falls below the new minimum, your salary will be increased to the new amount from your contracted start date. If the new minimum is less than the salary you are offered, the original salary offer will be retained.
