Job Description for Infrastructure and Facilities Manager

You will provide local technical advice on Infrastructure related issues, deliver medium sized projects and will be responsible for leading a small team.

Some roles will sit in the accommodation delivery team and will be responsible to co-ordinate and deliver accommodation projects (moves and changes). The roles will be providing advice and briefing to site occupants as well as senior management. You’ll also have some financial delegation responsibilities and authority to commit funds against certain projects.

Some roles will act as a manager within the infrastructure portfolio management office, with visibility across all aspects of the infrastructure enterprise, driving internal governance and infrastructure delivery across all 4 pillars. The individuals should have a good awareness of Programme and Project Management, be capable of independent action and possess excellent communication skills.Please note some attendance to the stated site may be required for this position.

Responsibilities for Infrastructure and Facilities Manager

  • Lead and manage projects and programmes, ensuring estate improvements and changes are effectively prioritised and implemented.
    • Engage with senior stakeholders across the business and with the wider MOD to support the interface with the Defence Infrastructure organisation and to establish infrastructure and accommodation requirements.
    • Approve and assist in the implementation of Infrastructure requirements, ensuring they are fit for purpose.
    • Manage a team of staff within the function, providing coaching and development opportunities where appropriate.
    • Understand and apply the principles of Risk including how projects mitigate infrastructure risk.

What you will be assessed against

To be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
Possess in depth knowledge/ experience within Infrastructure and/or accommodation planning & delivery

It will also benefit your application if you are able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
Knowledge consistent with that gained through a professional Infrastructure qualification such as IWFM or IAM.
Experience of project/programme management
