Estates Manager Job Description
Our Corporate Services Group (CSG) function is represented in every area of the organisation, with a wide range of specialisms that collectively enable our effective day-to-day operation, ensuring we can deliver our objectives and maintain compliance.
As part of our team, you’ll benefit from plenty of routes for development, access to specialist training and funding for professional qualifications, and a c.27% employer pension contribution. You’ll also have access to a wide range of employee networks, including the Women’s Inclusive Network, Race & Culture Network, Pride Network, Disability Network – and many more. We recognise that the best people for the job may have commitments outside of work, so we’re pleased to promote flexible working to support our colleagues in balancing work and home life.
Join Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) as our new Estates Manager at Defence Munitions (DM) Glen Douglas.
In this role, you’ll ensure that both DM Glen Douglas and DM Crombie sites have fit for purpose infrastructure and facilities management services. You’ll be the primary site interface with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and their delivery partners, ensuring that the estate, facility management and specialist service they provide meet with agreed standards and serve to underpin the safe and legal status of both sites.
As part of our team, your role will include sustaining and developing the estate and creating supporting cases for works projects of all scales. You’ll also be the budget holder and lead for a small team of staff.
After appropriate training and on-the-job learning, you’ll also be expected to undertake rostered duty officer responsibilities, which see a dedicated 24/7 presence and on-call system maintained at the respective site. These commitments currently attract additional payments at enhanced hourly rates.
Please note, due to the nature of this position you will be required to be working on site. You will be primarily based at DM Glen Douglas, but also expected to travel weekly to the DM Crombie site. On successful completion of probation, you’ll be required to join the ‘on call’ rota which will require overnight stays on site.
We strongly recommend tailoring your CV in line with our CV guidance before applying, with specific sections to highlight Key Achievements, Relevant Experience, and Applied Skills & Knowledge.
