We have a great opportunity to work for us at Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) within our Engineering Delivery Team. The Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solutions (JAMES) Project Team operates within DE&S Digital to implement IS-enabled business change in support of CDM’s logistics transformation goals. All aspects of support to JAMES Engineering including the maintenance of JAMES procedures, compliance with policy and doctrine, provide advice and guidance on the operation of data management cell and the accuracy, efficiency and continuous operation of the JAMES web portal. Planning the provision of enduring JAMES Business Support functions. To provide the User focus for JAMES to the Service Contract Management Cell. This post is to ensure integrity of data is maintained through engagement liaising with other Project teams and Service units as required. Including the input quality for data sourced from outside JAMES (such as legacy IS applications). Ensure JAMES maintains coherence with business processes, liaising with process owners as required.

Responsibilities for Digital Engineer
The responsibilities of these posts will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Responsible for assisting the Chief Engineer Joint Asset Management Engineering Solutions (JAMES) Delivery Team with the development of documented plans and processes for engagement with Front Line Command (FLC) staff.
Coordinating the roll-out of new processes, procedures and technology of unit focused work in support of the JAMES requirements.
The post holder is also responsible for developing new and revised processes and procedures to meet the needs of business change and will liaise with projects and FLC units as required and engage with the wider business community to communicate and gain support for change.
To provide compliance in Engineering and Asset Management policy for Defence and to provide assurance that JAMES Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are current and reflect the correct Defence policy and direction.
You will be working within the JAMES Defence Team and with external departments across the Defence land sea and air arenas.
Provide assurance and compliance to policy and to provide advice and guidance on the provision of ‘best practice’, for engineering and asset management both within defence and adopt principles being implemented from outside agencies and with commercial partners.
You will also provide engineering advice and guidance to the planned change processes to ensure areas effecting changes to safety case or which impact with Defence policy are documented and supported by the relevant stakeholder community.
The partner organisation will provide the design, development and delivery of the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Solutions.
Your role will be to deliver compliant service change and sustain the JAMES supporting documentation in compliance with the current Defence policy and look at future changes in policy and how they will impact on the use of the JAMES Management Information System (MIS).
What you will be assessed against
To be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
• A minimum of a level 4 qualification (HNC or above) in Engineering or associated subject, or relevant experience
• Experience in Stakeholder Management within the Engineering Sector
• Experience in a complex and regulated environment (defence, nuclear, aerospace, oil and gas, rail)
• Experience of IT Engineering Management Systems
In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competencies and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
• EFCF 3 Technical Requirements, Evaluation & Acceptance (Supervised Practitioner)
• EFCF 2 Application of Analytical Techniques (Supervised Practitioner)
• Managing a quality service
