Successful applicants will undertake a comprehensive course of practical, vocational and academic training including an engineering foundation degree (3 years) and potentially a full degree (5 years). Apprentices will also complete a number of work-based training placements and defence-specific aerospace, nuclear or weapon training at various locations within the UK while completing relevant vocational qualifications in preparation for engineering roles within the MOD Aerospace, Submarine or Weapon programmes.
We are recruiting for up to 30 positions and the Apprenticeship is based in Bristol, although some work and college placements may be elsewhere in the UK or occasionally overseas. Current starting salary is £15,796 rising to £31,250 on successful completion of the degree qualification. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be appointed to a role as an Engineering Manager at either the 3 year or 5 year point, using your knowledge and experience to support and equip the Armed Forces. Because of the classification of much of the work you will carry out during the apprenticeship and afterwards SDA Apprenticeships (Nuclear scheme) are open to Sole British National only. For further details on each stream see the attached factsheets.
